2020 Taipei Lantern Festival｜Our Original Aspiration Is the Universe

“初心 is the first light that ignites in everyone’s heart—the strength that keeps us going.” As long as we remember our original intention, a small person can shine a great light, and little Taiwan can bring a magnificent landscape to the world—just like the tiny mouse that ranks first among the twelve zodiac animals.

In this new year, in this new cycle, we have gathered beautiful wishes in words from across Taiwan and combined them with paper-cuttings filled with blessings, lighting up a lantern called “初心.” We hope that everyone who comes to the Lantern Festival can see the reason they persist, remember the longing that set them off at the beginning, and also remember: your original intention is the most beautiful light, and the lantern most worth lighting.
